WHAT PARENTS & STUDENTS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
Dear Miss Beverly, thank you!! For giving me the wonderful gift of music. You are and always will be my best teacher. It was AMAZING to be able to play for everybody. It was a GREAT experience. Thank you!!
Love Matt, age 9
Dear Beverly, I wanted to tell you how thrilled I am about discovering WYMS! We recently moved to this area and I just learned about the scholl from a friend, just in time to get my son enrolled. As a singer I think what you are doing in your classes is outstanding! My favorites are "Sing to your fingers..." and "Your ears will tell you..." I could go on and on. I think this is such a great way for children to be introduced to the world of music and I know that my son is going to gain so much from this experience!
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Moss D.M.A.
My son recently enrolled in Musicland and Primary I piano course. As a full-time working mom, I truly enjoy this special hour with my son as we both learn about the piano, music and singing happy songs. We sing the songs all the time – at home, in the car, wherever we can – our favorite is ‘Hello, Hello, Hello’. My 2-year old also sings along with us!
During work, I constantly sing/hum to ‘Hello, Hello, Hello’, and I find myself becoming much more calm and relaxed, even during the most stressful and busy moments.
I am truly grateful and appreciative of WYMS for fostering such a wonderful environment for teaching music.
Sincerely,
Nadia Othman, mother to Nabil, 5 years old
I just wanted to share my experience about Jasmine and "piano class." Last summer we took her to a very nice music/piano teacher who teaches the traditional way. The man who tunes our piano recommended her very highly. She also happens to be a Kindergarten teacher. So for 5 weeks over the summer we signed Jasmine up for piano lessons. I don't believe every form of education has to be entertaining. But it does need to engage the student to want to learn. She was so bored with the traditional method, and I felt like all the work was for me at home to repeat over and over what she learned. I asked Jasmine if she wanted to go back to Yamaha, without hesitation is was a "yes." We are still getting into a routine of homework, but when we put the CD or DVD on, she's dancing, singing, and fingering like on a keyboard. All done with a smile, and no prompting from me. I love the fact that Yamaha engages the child with singing, dance, and ear training. It seems to be a more well rounded way to learn how to play piano, then just reading notes on a page, and pounding a key. We hope to be able to give both of our children this wonderful gift of music.
p.s. I also love how the teachers refer to the kids as musicians, its inspiring.
Thank You

I highly recommend Wheaton Yamaha Music School. My son has been taking lessons there for over seven years. He really likes going to his lessons. He has an excellent relationship with his teacher, who is very pleasant to deal with, is supportive of my son, treats him with respect, and takes great pleasure in his progress. There are lots of good performers, but few good teachers. The teachers at Wheaton Yamaha Music School are good performers and good teachers.
Thanks
Randy
My daughter Sarah started taking music lessons at Yamaha before she began kindergarten, and has been studying there ever since. Today, as a high school junior, she has a great foundation in theory and technique, and is starting to place in competitions. Everyone at Yamaha has always gone "above and beyond" to do what was good for Sarah and her musical development. Besides her lessons, her teachers have presented many and varied opportunities for musical enrichment. These have included concert attendance, places to perform, scholarship contests, and even a chance to play and compare piano and harpsichord. I strongly recommend Wheaton Yamaha to any parent.

I have gone to the Wheaton Yamaha Music School since before kindergarten. I took Primaries 1-4, and then was the first ever private student. They have taught me everything I know about music, piano playing, and technique. My background in music theory is solid, and my playing is now helping me place in talent shows, and scholarship competitions. I have attended music summer camps several times, and applied to Interlochen (one of the country’s most prestigious music schools) for this summer. The teachers at Yamaha are wonderful (and I’ve taken lessons from most of them!). I have learned a lot, and wouldn’t want to take music anywhere else.
