MUSICLAND

This three-session program for beginners ages 4 ½ through 6 ½ is our introduction to the Junior Music Course, the core Yamaha curriculum.

It is designed to give children a taste of the exciting musical adventure ahead of them. Children sing, dance, play rhythm instruments, and explore the keyboard; basic music notation concepts are also introduced.

Musicland meets for 55 minutes with a parent or caregiver as a partner. Musicland is the first three lessons of Primary I and is a prerequisite to continue in Junior Music Course.

JUNIOR MUSIC COURSE PRIMARY I, II, III, IV

This four-semester program builds on concepts introduced in Musicland: musical notation, rhythm, ear training, singing, keyboard, solfege, melody, harmony, transposition, and ensemble.

Primary I is a 15 week semester; Primary II, III & IV are 20 weeks in length. Classes meet for 55 minutes once a week with a parent or caregiver as a partner.

PI (plus registration & materials) — $300.00
PII, III, IV (plus materials per semester) — $375.00

JUNIOR EXTENSION COURSE (JXC 1, 2, 3 4)

This program follows Primary IV and takes the student’s musicianship further with emphasis on sight singing, sight playing and ensemble. Students are encouraged to use their musical skills creatively to compose and perform.

We offer JXC 1, 2, 3 & 4; semesters are 20 weeks in length and classes meet 50-55 minutes weekly. Begins September and February.

Each Extension semester $375 plus $40 material fee.
